The earthquake and the tsunami in Japan have caused severe damage in the North-East part of the country. More than 7500 people have been confirmed dead and 11 000 are missing. Lack of water, electricity and transportation affect millions of people.
Todd at Todd’s Wanderings has published a list of aid organizations he recommends if you are planning to donate to help the earthquake and tsunami victims. Todd’s wife is from Tokyo and both Todd and his wife are professional aid and recovery workers with the UN. His family and friends have been affected by the earthquake and he recently wrote about his own experience during the earthquake, when he was in Japan. Todd’s now asking for help in raising donations and also recommends organizations that have both the technical expertise and local knowledge that is needed to effectively help the victims of the earthquake and the tsunami in Japan.
